29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: At the time of the inspection, the following machines were not adequately guraded; a) The metal cutting lathe was not equipped with a chuck guard exposing exployees to a rotating part hazard. b) The horizontal band saw did not have a guard to cover all the unused portion of the blade exposing employees to a point of operation hazard. c) The ribbon blender mesh guard was not secured. Employees were exposed to the rotating padlles. Abatement certification and abatement documentation is required for this violation. The documentation should include written verification of abatement, applicable measurements or monitoring results, and photographs or videos which you believe will be helpful. The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations
