29 CFR 1910.136(a): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses protective footwear when working in areas where there is a danger of foot injuries due to falling or rolling objects, or objects piercing the sole, and where such employee's feet are exposed to electrical hazards: a) Shipping/Receiving - On July 1, 2014, the employer did not ensure that each employee used protective footwear (steel toed shoes or work boots) when exposed to foot injury(ies) during the operation of material handling equipment (forklifts) and the handling of steel wire reels weighing approximately 350 pounds. In accordance with 29CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
