29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding were not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc.      Shop area; employees used a Buffalo drill press machine, model DM-58-125, serial number 072412 without a guard,  exposing employees to struck-by hazards.

The safety guard was not mounted so as to maintain proper alignment with the wheel, and the strength of the fastenings shall exceed the strength of the guard.      Shop area; employees used a Milwaukee portable hand held grinder, serial number 938B6072900045 without a guard, exposing employees to struck-by hazards.
