29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(iv): Employee training did not include the details of the hazard communication program developed by the employer, including an explanation of the hazards of non-routine tasks such as, but not limited to, the cleaning of a reactor vessel. a) Manufacturing Area - On or about 6/27/14, a Chemical Manufacturing Technician sustained second degree burns to his face and head when he attempted to neutralize hydrochloric acid that had leaked onto the floor during the pacification of a reactor vessel. The pacification of the reactor vessel is a non-routine task conducted by Chemical Manufacturing Technicians or Chemical Operators that work in the Manufacturing Area. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED United Biochemicals was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.1200 (f)(5)(ii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314388901, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on 6/3/10, with respect to a workplace located at 6351 Inducton Drive, Sanborn, NY.
