NOTE: Construction Reference: 1926.103 - Requirements applicable to construction work under this section are identical to those set forth at � 1910.134 of this chapter. 29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function: a) The employer required employees to wear full face respiratory protection (3M Model 6800 equipped with 3M Model 2091 P100 filters) when grinding out mortar joints containing up to 30% crystalline silica. Employees who used tight-fitting respiratory protection had facial hair (i.e. beards) that interfered with the seal between the facepiece and the face.
