29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: In the Press Department- 300 Ton, Pacific Press Model# 225-OBL-6 Serial# A1365 : The employer is failing to ensure that employees are protected from hazards caused by points of operation and ingoing nip points in that an employee was injured while attempting to clear a jam (hung-up) piece of steel from inside of a hydraulic press die with his finger. The employer had not effectively guarded the hazard created when steel gets hung up while going in to the hydraulic press from the flat stock feeder.
