29 CFR 1926.404(b)(1)(iii)(C): Each cord set, attachment cap, plug and receptacle of cord sets, and any equipment connected by cord and plug, except cord sets and receptacles which are fixed and not exposed to damage, shall be visually inspected before each day's use for external defects, such as deformed or missing pins or insulation damage, and for indications of possible internal damage. Equipment found damaged or defective shall not be used until repaired. Lot 15: On or about June 18, 2014 and at times prior thereto, employees were using extension cords with a missing grounding pin to operate the portable compressor to power tools, exposing operators to electrical hazards when using a portable generator. Lot 15: On or about June 18, 2014 and at times prior thereto, employees were using extension cords with damaged insulation at the receptacle to operate the portable compressor to power tools, exposing operators to electrical hazards. Lot 15: On or about June 18, 2014 and at times prior thereto, employees were using a compressor with insulation damage at the plug, exposing employees when using and handling the energized equipment.
