29 CFR 1910.179(l)(3)(i): Unsafe conditions disclosed during the frequent or periodic inspections required by 29 CFR 1910.179(j) were not corrected before operation of the cranes was resumed.    a) Steel Yard - Outside Bay, 225 Kiwanis Boulevard, West Hazleton, PA - Employees operated the Ace 25-Ton overhead crane (Serial No. 4245) after a periodic inspection completed March 8, 2014 noted that problems with the runway included columns that were horizontally and vertically out-of-alignment, had broken/loose welds, had missing/loose bolts, had deflecting girders, had missing tiebacks, had worn rails and had brittle insulator covers. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards on or about July 24, 2014.    b) Steel Yard - Outside Bay, 225 Kiwanis Boulevard, West Hazleton, PA - Employees operated the Konecranes 20-Ton overhead crane (Serial No. 8503) after a periodic inspection completed March 8, 2014 noted that noted that problems with the runway included columns that were horizontally and vertically out-of-alignment, had broken/loose welds, had missing/loose bolts, had deflecting girders, had missing tiebacks, had worn rails and had brittle insulator covers. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards as observed on or about July 24, 2014.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is not required for this violation. The hazardous conditions were corrected during the inspection.
