29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  (a)  A guard was not provided on the ten inch trim saw to prevent employee access to an ingoing nip point on a chain drive, which resulted in an amputation.  (b)  A guard was not provided on the ingoing nip point created by the conveyor on the Smith Band Saw.  Abatement verification was provided by the employer for both items.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19
