29 CFR 1926.502(d)(16): Personal fall arrest systems, when stopping a fall, shall be rigged such that employees can neither free fall more than 6 feet, nor contact any lower level: (a) Metro Construction and Restoration LLC at 1750 S. Federal Blvd., Denver, CO 80219: On and before August 7, 2014 the controlling employer did not ensure that the personal fall arrest system used by an employee limited the fall distance to 6 feet, nor prevented contact with the lower level. An employee connected a 6 foot lanyard to a horizontal life line that extended parallel to an exposed window ledge for approximately 8 feet. Conditions resulted in employees exposed to fall hazards of greater than 6 feet, and with the potential of contacting the next floor, 10 feet below.
