29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) Fall protection guardrails were not provided on floor edges at floors 3, 4, 5, 6 where the modular unit plastic wrap was opened to allow employees to access for the extension ladder and aerial lifts. Employees were exposed to fall hazard up to 50 ft. Location; at the back of the building above the extension ladder. b) Guardrails were not provided at 2nd floor perimeter, located at the back of the building. Caution tape was used. Location: 22 Bay Street, Brooklyn, N.Y. On or about 7-17-2014 NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
