29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system:  Jobsite: The employer is failing to protect employees from potential fall hazards associated with roofing operations on a residential home where the eve to ground height of the roof ranged from 8 feet to over 10 feet. Unprotected employees were exposed to a fall of at least 8 feet while installing shingles on a roof.  Abatement certification and abatement documentation is required for this violation. The documentation certification should include written verification of abatement, applicable measuring or monitoring results, and photographs or videos which you believe will be helpful. Abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citation.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards:    Jobsite: The employer is failing to provide employees exposed to potential fall hazards with training on the recognition and identification of the hazards of falling, as well as, procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. Untrained employees were exposed to a fall of 8 feet or more while installing shingles on a roof.    Abatement certification and abatement documentation is required for this violation. The documentation certification should include written verification of abatement, applicable measuring or monitoring results, and photographs or videos which you believe will be helpful. Abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citation.

29 CFR 1926.1060(a): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee using ladders, as necessary, which would enable each employee to recognize hazards related to ladders and train each employee in the procedures to be followed to minimize these hazards:  Jobsite: The employer is failing to provide ladder safety training to employees who were using a ladder to access the upper landing of a roof in a residential home.  Untrained employees were exposed to a fall of 8 feet or more while installing shingles on a roof.  Abatement certification and abatement documentation is required for this violation. The documentation certification should include written verification of abatement, applicable measuring or monitoring results, and photographs or videos which you believe will be helpful. Abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citation.
