29 CFR 1910.184(c)(14): Employers used slings without affixed and legible identification markings. Tool Room- Employees were working with and around unmarked chain slings used on hoists to lift molds at work benches. The slings did not have affixed and legible markings as to rating and capacity, exposing employees to struck by hazards in the event of sling overloading and dropped loads. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1910.215(a)(2): Abrasive wheel(s) used on grinding machinery were not provided with safety guard(s) which covered the spindle end, nut, and flange projections: Tool Room- The side of the grinding wheel on the Bovar Schultz Six Twelve Surface Grinder was not adequately guarded in that a piece of cardboard was used. Employees were exposed to a struck by hazard in the event of grinding wheel breakage. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
