Suitable fire control devices, such as small hose or portable fire extinguishers, shall be available at locations where flammable liquids are stored.                 a.  At the work site, employees filled fleet vehicles at the end of their shift with gasoline from a tank. There was no fire extinguisher available.

29 CFR 1910.106(g)(3)(iv)(d): The dispensing units, except those attached to containers, shall be mounted either on a concrete island or protected against collision damage by suitable means.  a.  At the work site, employees fueled fleet vehicles at the end of their shift from a tank.  The dispensing unit located on the tank was not protected from collision damage.

29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(5): Except as provided in paragraphs (f)(6) and (f)(7) of this section, the employer shall ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace is labeled, tagged or marked with the following information:  29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(5)(ii): Appropriate hazard warnings, or alternatively, words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals, and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, will provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical.  a.  At the work site, employees pumped gasoline from a tank into their assigned vehicles at the end of each shift.  The tank was not marked with the information about the contents as required by the standard.

29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(1): Chemical manufacturers and importers shall obtain or develop a material safety data sheet for each hazardous chemical they produce or import. Employers shall have a material safety data sheet in the workplace for each hazardous chemical which they use.  a.  At the end of the shift, employees filled their assigned vehicles with gasoline from a large tank located at a site on the employer's personal property.  The employer did not have a Safety Data Sheet for the gasoline.
