29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1) Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. A. The Dotson Company worksite located at 2720 Albon Rd., Maumee, Ohio: On or about October 1, 2014, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from fall hazards while performing framing activities on the single story wood framed commercial structure. Employees were installing trusses on the East side of the structure while walking on the top plate. Employees were exposed to a fall distance of approximately 12.00 feet. B. The Dotson Company worksite located at 2720 Albon Rd., Maumee, Ohio: On or about October 1, 2014, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from fall hazards while performing framing activities on the single story wood framed commercial structure. Employees were installing truss bracing while working on the top plate of the interior walls. Employees were exposed to a fall distance of approximately 8.00 feet.
