OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: 1) On October 9, 2014, and at prior times, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from crushing hazards while working underneath vehicles that were elevated on automotive lifts in the following circumstances: a) The employer did not ensure that employees lowered the lift to the locking mechanisms. b) The employer did not ensure that no employee was inside the vehicle when it was raised or lowered. b) Lifts were not periodically inspected by qualified inspectors at least annually to ensure that they were properly maintained and functioning.
