OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to potential crushing hazards from falling loads and/or lift parts:    a) Maintenance Shop - 1800 State Route 14, Geneva NY 14456 - Auto Service area,  on or about 11/7/2014:   Employees  were working  in proximity or under  two Lift Distribution of America vehicle lifts exposing employees to struck by and caught between hazards if the lift should fail.         Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard are:     1.An automotive lift inspection and maintenance program shall be established in accordance with ANSI/ALI ALOIM 2008-Standards for Automotive Lifts-Safety Requirements for Operation, Inspection and Maintenance and the lift manufactures owner's manual for all automotive lift.     2.Annual inspections of automotive lifts shall be conducted and documented by a qualified lift inspector on the manufacturer's approved checklist who possesses the knowledge and meets the minimum standards set forth in ANSI/ALI ALOIM 2008-Standards for Automotive Lifts-Safety Requirements for Operation, Inspection and Maintenance for all automotive lifts.     3.All required automotive lift preventative maintenance and repairs identified during the annual inspections of all automotive lifts by the qualified lift inspector shall be performed prior to placing that lift back in operation.
