29 CFR 1910.107(c)(6): Electrical wiring and equipment not subject to deposits of combustible residues but located in a spraying area as herein defined were not explosion-proof type approved for     Class I, group D locations and did not otherwise conform to the provisions of subpart S of this part, for Class I, Division 1, Hazardous Locations:  In the paint booth, equipment did not meet the requirements of Class I, Division 1, Hazardous Locations, exposing employees to explosion hazards in the following instances:  1)  The "Exit" sign mounted on the inside, South Wall, of the paint booth was not Class I, Division 1.  2)  Class I, Division 1 equipment, such as the vapor proof light fixtures and conduit were not being maintained in that the fixtures were missing their vapor proof cover and the conduit was broken.

29 CFR 1910.334(a)(2)(i): Portable cord and plug connected equipment and flexible cord sets (extension cords) were not visually inspected before use on any shift for external defects (such as loose parts, deformed and missing pins, or damage to outer jacket or insulation) and for evidence of possible internal damage (such as pinched or crushed outer jacket):  In the paint booth, cord and cord connected equipment had deficiencies that were creating explosion hazards in the following instances:  1)  The paint shaker had cord sheathing fraying where it entered the shaker.  2)  An extension cord used to power the paint shaker had a broken ground prong.
