OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to deflagration, explosion, or other fire hazards while working at or near printing press dryer units that were not adequately designed to prevent or minimize employee exposure in the event of an explosion, deflagration, or other fire event:    On or about October 21, 2014, employee(s) were exposed to deflagration, explosion, or other fire hazards such as, but not limited to:    a) The dryer unit for press 6 (PCMC Model 7450) lacked a means of venting explosions and/or deflagrations to a safe location.    Among other methods, a feasible method to correct these hazards would be to comply with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 68 "Standard on Explosion Protection by Deflagration Venting" and NFPA 86 "Standard for Ovens and Furnaces".  Sections 6.6.1 and 6.6.2 of NFPA 68 and Section 5.3.6 of NFPA 86 cover explosion and deflagration venting.
