OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of chemical burns and inhalation of anhydrous ammonia. On or about October 23, 2014, and at times prior thereto, at the anhydrous storage tank facility employees working with and in close proximity of a large 12,000 gallon liquid anhydrous ammonia storage / service tank were exposed to the hazards of contact with liquid ammonia and inhalation of vapor from leaking or failed ammonia systems.
