29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  a.) Tru-Edge Grinding, Inc. located at 752 Jim Lachey Dr. St. Henry, OH 45883; On or about October 28, 2014, the employer did not assure employees were protected while operating the #16 CNC Grinding Machine and the #4 Anca RGX CNC Cutter Grinder. Employees are able to open the doors during the production cycle in that the interlocks are missing or inoperable and are exposed to rotating parts.

Tru-Edge Grinding, Inc. located at 752 Jim Lachey Dr. St. Henry, OH 45883; On or about October 28, 2014, the employer did not assure employees were protected while performing setups on CNCs machines including, but not limited to, #7 ANCA RX7 CNC Grinder, the Medical Robot, and the #4 ANCA RGX CNC Cutter Grinder. Employees are required to perform setup and/or maintenance activities and are exposed to caught by hazards from rotating tools.

Tru-Edge Grinding, Inc. located at 752 Jim Lachey Dr. St. Henry, OH 45883; On or about October 28, 2014, the employer did not assure electrical wiring for the coolant pumps for the CNC machines in the shop was hard wired. Flexible cords were used to power the coolant pumps in the shop area, exposing employees to shock hazards.
