Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a. Located at 975 North Hamilton Road in Gahanna, Ohio, employees were working on an approximate 6 inch on 12 inch pitched roof installing sheathing without any means of fall protection, thereby exposing the employees to a fall hazard of a maximum height of approximately 20 feet.
