Site- Employees installing wood decking on an awning were exposed to a fall of approximately 12 feet where fall protection was not utilized.

29 CFR 1926.1051(a): Stairway(s) or ladder(s) were not provided at all personnel points of access where there was a break in elevation of 19 inches (48 cm) or more, or no ramp, runway, sloped embankment, or personnel hoist was provided:  a. Site- The employer failed to provide a stairway or ladder for employees to access the awning above the main entrance to the building under construction. Employees were climbing the guardrails of a scissor lift and pulling themselves up to the deck on top of the awning for access.
