29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system. a) 9376 3rd Ave., Naval Station Norfolk, Norfolk, VA 23511: On or about November 4, 2014, and times prior thereto, each employee working on a low-slope roof with an approximately 31'4" eave to ground fall distance was not protected from fall hazards by the use of guardrails, safety nets or personal fall arrest systems. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: a) 9376 3rd Ave., Naval Station Norfolk, Norfolk, VA 23511: On or about November 4, 2014, and times prior thereto, each employee who was exposed to fall hazards while working on a flat roof was not trained in fall hazards and the procedures to be followed to minimize such hazards. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
