29 CFR 1910.179(j)(3): Complete inspections of the cranes was not being performed at intervals as generally defined in paragraph (j)(1)(ii)(b) of this section: On or about November 6, 2014, employees were exposed to struck by hazards where the employer did not conduct periodic inspections of the overhead cranes to ensure that the condition of the cranes did not constitute a safety hazard. The employer did not inspect the critical components of the crane for wear deterioration, or malfunction such as but not limited to: deformed, cracked, or corroded members; loose bolts or rivets; cracked or worn sheaves or drums; or worn, cracked, or distorted parts such as pins, bearings, shafts, gears, rollers, locking and clamping devices.
