29 CFR 1926.854(h): Walls, which serve as retaining walls to support earth or adjoining structures, were not properly braced or adjoining structures were not properly underpinned prior to demolition. a) On or about November 13, 2014 at the jobsite located at 31964 Lake Road in Avon Lake, OH: the employer did not assure that the retaining wall being selectively demolished was adequately braced from overturning. Employees performing demolition operations were exposed to crushing hazards while working in the fall zone of the unbraced retaining wall.
