29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1)(i): When the employer had assessed the workplace hazard(s) and determined that hazard(s) were present, the employer did not select and/or use the types of personal protective equipment that would protect the affected employee from hazardous chemicals: a. Spray Booth, Paint Storage and Mixing Room - The employer did not select the appropriate personal protective clothing, such as, full-face shields, nitrile gloves, disposable Tyvek coveralls, and disposable shoe coverlets based on the hazards that were present in the workplace. An employee weighed and mixed isocyanate-containing polyurethane paint coatings (e.g. mixture of BASF 923550 High Performance Clear Coat and BASF 92953 HS Hardener Normal). This employee's personal protective clothing was inadequate to prevent contamination of this employees personal clothing and skin from exposure to isocyanate-containing compounds. Isocyanates are strong irritants and sensitizers. Observed On or about November 21, 2014

29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation: a. Spray Booth, Paint Storage and Mixing Room - The employer did not require the use of eye and face protection (e.g. Full-Face Shield) that was adequate to protect an employee's eyes and face from exposure to isocyanate-containing compounds.
