29 CFR 1910.95(g)(1): The employer shall establish and maintain an audiometric testing program as provided in this paragraph by making audiometric testing available to all employees whose exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels. a. The employer had not developed and implemented an audiometric testing program for employees working in the holtec area. An employee working in the holtec area was exposed to continuous noise at 67.97% on December 4, 2014 which exceeded the action limit (AL) of 50%, an 8-hour TWA (time weighted average) sound level of 85 dBA. The employee's 8-hour TWA sound level was approximately 87.2 dBA during the 470 minute sampling period. Time weighted average includes a zero increment for the 10 minutes not sampled. b. The employer had not developed and implemented an audiometric testing program for employees working in the turbo pallet machine area. An employee operating the turbo pallet machine was exposed to continuous noise at 74.81% on December 4, 2014 which exceeded the action limit (AL) of 50%, an 8-hour TWA (time weighted average) sound level of 85 dBA. The employee's 8-hour TWA sound level was approximately 87.9 dBA during the 471 minute sampling period. Time weighted average includes a zero increment for the 9 minutes not sampled. c. The employer had not developed and implemented an audiometric testing program for employees working in the panels area. An employee working in the panels area was exposed to continuous noise at 145.5% on December 4, 2014 which exceeded the action limit (AL) of 50%, an 8-hour TWA (time weighted average) sound level of 85 dBA. The employee's 8-hour TWA sound level was approximately 92.7dBA during the 447 minute sampling period. Time weighted average includes a zero increment for the 33 minutes not sampled. d. The employer had not developed and implemented an audiometric testing program for employees working in the maintenance department. A maintenance employee was exposed to continuous noise at 119.1% on December 4, 2014 which exceeded the action limit (AL) of 50%, an 8-hour TWA (time weighted average) sound level of 85 dBA. The employee's 8-hour TWA sound level was approximately 91.2 dBA during the 477 minute sampling period. Time weighted average includes a zero increment for the 3 minutes not sampled.
