29 CFR 1910.134(i)(5)(iv): The employer did not ensure that compressors used to supply breathing air to respirators were constructed and situated so as to have a tag maintained at the compressor containing the most recent change date and the signature of the person authorized by the employer to perform the change: a)Sandblasting area located in shop yard: On or about November 20, 2014, and prior to, employees were exposed to inhalation and asphyxiation hazards from required use of a Nova 2000 hood respirator that has breathing air generated from a Sullair oil based compressor without documenting filter change information on breathing air filter pot while conducting sandblasting job tasks.

29 CFR 1910.134(i)(7): For oil-lubricated compressors, the employer shall use a high-temperature or carbon monoxide alarm, or both, to monitor carbon monoxide levels. If only high-temperature alarms are used, the air supply shall be monitored at intervals sufficient to prevent carbon monoxide in the breathing air from exceeding 10 ppm. a)Sandblasting area located in shop yard: On or about November 20, 2014, and prior to, employees were exposed to inhalation and asphyxiation hazards from required use of a Nova 2000 hood respirator that has breathing air generated from a Sullair oil based compressor that does not have a Carbon Monoxide alarm or temperature alarm while conducting sandblasting job tasks.
