OSH ACT of 1970 Section 5(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to combustible plastic resin powder (plastic resin and other additives) fire hazards while working around indoor media-type dust collectors (bag houses) that were connected to upstream processing equipment capable of producing ignition sources and that exhausted air directly back into the indoor processing environment:     (a)    Pulverizing Department:  Two indoor MAC 72 AVS36 IV media-type dust collectors (bag houses), servicing five Orenda HID500 pulverizers processing plastic resin (pellets and other additives), lacked a means of fire protection.  The collectors exhausted air directly back into the pulverizing department without means to prevent the transmission of the effects of a fire (flames, smoke, embers, etc.)      (b)   Blending Department:  An indoor FlexKleen 58-BV-25 III media-type dust collector (bag house), servicing the Extra Large Mixer blending plastic resin (pellets and other additives), lacked a means of fire protection.  The collector exhausted air directly back into the blending department without means to prevent the transmission of the effects of a fire (flames, smoke, embers, etc.)
