29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected rom falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a)WITCO @ 2975 Huron Street, Denver, CO 80205: On and before December 15th, 2014, the exposing employer did not ensure that an employee on an walking working surface 6 feet or more below a lower level was protect from falls by an appropriate fall protective measure. An employee was observed walking on the top plate of a 12 foot wall located on the third floor of a new construction project directing a crane as it delivered a load of wooden trusses. The employee provided hand signals while setting the bundle on top of the walls. The condition exposed the employee to a fall hazard greater than 6 feet while working on the top plate placing trusses.
