29 CFR 1910.1000(c): An employee(s) was exposed to Crystalline Silica as reparable quartz in excess of the 8-hour time weighted average limits of 10 mg/m3 / % SiO2+2 listed in Table Z-3:     In the grinding area, where an employee performing grinding was exposed to respirable dust containing 16% crystalline quartz at an 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA) exceeding 10 milligram per cubic meter. The permissible exposure limit (PEL) for respirable dust containing 16% crystalline quartz is 0.56 milligrams per cubic meter.  The employees  exposure was 8.03 times the PEL. Sampling was conducted for 195 minutes on January 27, 2015. Zero exposure as assumed for the remaining minutes.    In the grinding area, where an employee performing grinding was exposed to respirable dust containing 22% crystalline quartz at an 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA) exceeding 10 milligram per cubic meter. The permissible exposure limit (PEL) for respirable dust containing 22% crystalline quartz is 0.42 milligrams per cubic meter.  The employees exposure was 3.6 times the PEL. Sampling was conducted for 55 minutes on January 27, 2015. Zero exposure as assumed for the remaining minutes.
