29 CFR 1910.107(c)(3): Space-heating appliances, steampipes, or hot surfaces shall not be located in a spraying area where deposits of combustible residues may readily accumulate:     a) In the Red Building, on or about January 5, 2015 - A portable oil-fired heater was used in an area where Sherwin-Williams Quick Dry Enamel, Gloss White and Sherwin-Williams Shopcoat Primer Gray were being applied as a spray.  Residue from the two coatings accumulated on the heater.

29 CFR 1910.107(e)(2): The quantity of flammable or combustible liquids kept in the vicinity of spraying operations were not at a minimum required for operations or they exceeded a supply for one day or one shift:  a) In the Red Building, on or about January 5, 2015 - The quantity of Sherwin-Williams Quick Dry Enamel, Sherwin-Williams Shopcoat Primer and Sherwin-Williams SW-1 Lacquer Thinner kept adjacent to spray coating operations exceeded the supply for one shift.

29 CFR 1910.107(g)(2): All spraying areas were not kept as free from the accumulation of deposits of combustible residues as practical, with cleaning conducted daily if necessary:  a) In the Red Building, on or about January 5, 2015 - Overspray of Sherwin-Williams Quick Dry Enamels and Sherwin-Williams Shopcoat primer had accumulated in the spray area where employees spray coat mining industry equipment.

29 CFR 1910.107(g)(5): The use of solvents for cleaning spray nozzles and auxiliary equipment were not restricted to those having flashpoints not less than the flashpoints of those solvents normally used in spray operations:  a) In the Red Building, on or about January 5, 2015 - A painter was using Sherwin-Williams R7K119 Lacquer Thinner to clean a spray nozzle.  Sherwin-Williams SW-1 Lacquer Thinner has a flashpoint of 1 deg. F. which is lower than the flashpoints of Sherwin-Williams paints used in spraying mining industry parts.
