29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Machine Shop: A Jet Horizontal Band Saw model number MBS1014W-3, serial number 04015104 that was last used to cut three quarter inch tension rods did not have a guard installed over the fourteen inch section of the saw blade that was not engaged in the cutting action as observed on January 8, 2015. (b) Fabrication Shop: A Dake Johnson band saw model number JH10 (Serial number unknown) that was last used to cut one inch pipe did not have a guard installed over the fourteen inch section of the saw blade that was not engaged in the cutting action as observed on January 8, 2015. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
