29 CFR 1926.1101(e)(6):  The employer did not ensure that all asbestos work performed within regulated areas was supervised by a competent person:    (a)J & B Refurb, at 2305 W 92nd Avenue, Federal Heights, CO: On or about 11/19/14, J & B Refurb did not ensure that all asbestos work performed within regulated areas was supervised by a competent person.  J & B Refurb performed demolition of drywall that had joint compound containing approximately two percent chrysotile asbestos.  The joint compound was an asbestos containing material.  This was Class II asbestos work.  This condition exposed employees of J & B Refurb to an asbestos hazard.    (b) J & B Refurb, at 2305 W 92nd Avenue, Federal Heights, CO: On or about 11/19/14, J & B Refurb did not ensure that all asbestos work performed within regulated areas was supervised by a competent person.  J & B Refurb removed upper track for an accordion room divider from a ceiling containing "popcorn" surface texture.  The ceiling surface texture was a presumed asbestos containing material.  This work was Class III asbestos work.  This condition exposed employees of J & B Refurb to an asbestos hazard.

J & B Refurb performed demolition of drywall that had joint compound containing approximately two percent chrysotile asbestos.  The joint compound was an asbestos containing material.  This was Class II asbestos work.  This condition exposed employees of J & B Refurb to an asbestos hazard. Abatement Note:  A competent person is capable of identifying existing asbestos hazards in the workplace and capable of selecting the appropriate control strategy for asbestos exposure, and who has the authority to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them.  For Class II work, who has received training which meets the criteria of EPA's Model Accreditation Plan for supervisors.  For Class III work, who has received training which meets the EPA requirements for training of local education agency maintenance and custodial staff as set forth at 40 CFR 763.92(a)(2).

J & B Refurb performed demolition of drywall that had joint compound containing approximately two percent chrysotile asbestos and removed upper track for an accordion room divider from a ceiling containing "popcorn" surface texture.  The joint compound was ACM.  The ceiling surface texture was PACM.  This condition exposed employees of J & B Refurb to an asbestos hazard.
