Unless necessary for a use permitted in paragraph (g)(1)(i) of this section, flexible cords and cables shall not be used: 29 CFR 1926.405(g)(1)(iii)(B): Where run through holes in walls, ceilings, or floors. a. In the southwest building, 4th floor west end where employee hung drywall, the employees cut holes in the drywall and installed over energized temporary lighting flexible cords with the cords in contact with the rough edges of the metal stud framing, thereby exposing employees to a electrical contact hazard.
