Wipe samples collected on the line speed control knob and the exit roll controls showed the presence of hexavalent chromium, as determined on February 3, 2015. Abatement Certification Required for this Item.

29 CFR 1910.1026(k)(1)(i)(A): The employer did not make medical surveillance available for all employees who were or could be occupationally exposed to chromium (VI) at or above the action level for 30 or more days a year: (a) CAP Line: An employee operating the CAP Line was exposed to an airborne concentration to hexavalent chromium at an 8-hour Time Weighted Average of 3.0 micrograms per cubic meter of air for the 442 minute sampling period on January 21, 2015. The employee was exposed over the action level of 2.5 micrograms per cubic meter of air. The employer has not made a medical surveillance program available for the employee that is exposed over the action level, as determined on March 2, 2015.
