The speed reducer is used to change chuck speeds on the mill.  There were two ingoing nip points; one on each side of the speed reducer.   The employer has provided verification of abatement.

29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1)(ii): Electrical equipment was not free from recognized hazards, based on the mechanical strength and durability, including, for parts designed to enclose and protect other equipment, the adequacy of the protection thus provided:   (a)  The conductors supplying power to the Bridgeport Vertical Mill were not protected from damage by the flexible conduit   which carried them.  The flex conduit was broken and did not protect approximately 12 inches of the energized conductors.   The employer provided documentation of abatement of this violation.
