29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or on roofs 50-feet (15.25 m) or less in width, each employee was not protected by use of a monitoring system.  The employer does not protect employees from falling when working on a low-sloped roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lover levels.  This violation was observed on or about January 30, 2015, on the low-sloped roof of a canopy where employees were exposed to fall hazards of more than 6 feet above a lower level when attaching roofing material without a fall protection system.    Kirtley Sheet Metal was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501 (b)(10), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 603458, Citation Number 1, Item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on July 8, 2013 with respect to a workplace located at Katy Freeway, Katy, Texas 77494  Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within 10 (ten) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that employees are protected from falling when exposed to falls 6 feet or more with unprotected side and edges.
