Employees, working from unprotected steep and low pitched roofs, were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 24-feet 3-inches and 10-feet 9-inches, respectively.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): When portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access. a) Front and side of residence located at 310 Oakhurst Lane, Marietta, Georgia. Employees, exposed to fall hazards of 24-feet 3-inches and 10-feet 9-inches, were not provided a safe means to mount and dismount roofs as the side rails of the extension ladders did not extend at least 3-feet above the upper landing surfaces.

29 CFR 1926.405(g)(2)(iv): Flexible cords were not connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief is provided to prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws: a) Front of residence located at 310 Oakhurst Lane, Marietta, Georgia. The strain relief of the power cord to a seven and one-quarter inch circular saw was damaged exposing employees to electrical shock and/or burn.
