29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches, whichever is less, were not equipped with at least one handrail and one stairrail system along each unprotected side or edge:    (a)Eastside Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. at 2635 Spruce Meadows Drive, Broomfield, CO 80020:  On and before January 29th, 2015, the exposing employer did not ensure that employees were protected from falling when using the stairways, in that, the stairways did not have at least one handrail and one stair rail system along each unprotected edge, in the following instances:    1)The stairs from the main floor to the second floor consisted of 9 steps to a landing, and were open on one side, presenting a fall hazard of up to 5'7".  These stairs had a studded wall on the other side, with no handrail.  The stairs above the landing to the second floor had studded walls on both sides with no handrails.  The stairs were 50 inches wide;    2)The stairs from the main floor to the basement were open on one side, with no stair rails or handrails, and presented a fall hazard of 10';    3)The stairs in the garage consisted of 5 steps and were open on one side, with no stair rails or handrails.  The other side of these stairs was a studded wall with no handrail, with a fall hazard of 33 inches.    The condition exposed employees to fall hazards of up to 10'.

29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(12): Unprotected sides and edges of stairway landings were not provided with guardrail systems that meet the criteria contained in Subpart M of 29 CFR 1926:  (a)Eastside Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. at 2635 Spruce Meadows Drive, Broomfield, CO 80020:  On and before January 29th, 2015, the employer did not ensure that stairway landings were constructed with standard guardrails in the following instances:  1)The stairway landing for the steps going from the main floor to the second floor was open on one side, and was 6'3" long, presenting a 5' 7" fall hazard; and  2)The stairway landing for the steps going from the garage to the main floor was open on two sides that were 48" x 46", and presented a 33" fall hazard. The condition exposed employees to falling off the landing.
