29 CFR 1910.22(d)(1): On every building or other structure, or part thereof, used for mercantile, business, industrial or storage purposes, the loads approved by the building official were not marked on plates of approved design and securely affixed in a conspicuous place in each space to which they relate.  Employees working in the South Shed were exposed to a crushed-by hazard in that the upper or mezzanine floor of the tool crib, being utilized for tool and material storage, was not marked indicating the rated capacity of the floor.

29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1): Open-sided floors and/or platforms four feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded with standard railings (or equivalent) and toeboards:Note:  Toeboards are only required when persons can pass, there is moving equipment or there is equipment with which falling materials could create a hazard.  Employees working in the South Shed were exposed to a fall hazard of 7 feet 10 inches to the concrete floor below.  Approximately 10 feet of the guard rail for the upper or mezzanine level of the tool crib was 34 inches vertical height from upper surface of top rail to floor and was not provided with a mid rail.

29 CFR 1910.253(b)(2)(iv): Valve protection caps, where cylinders were designed to accept caps, were not always in place, hand-tight, except when cylinders were in use or connected for use:  Employees working in the South Shed were exposed to injury from a projectile hazard.  One compressed gas cylinder of argon was stored without a valve cap to protect the valve from damage.

29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i): Except as elsewhere required or permitted by Subpart S of Part 1910, live parts of electric equipment operating  at 50 volts or more were not guarded against accidental contact by use of approved cabinets or other forms of approved enclosures or by any of the means identified in paragraphs (A), (B), (C), and (D) of 29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i):  Employees working in the North Shed were exposed to an electrical shock hazard due to exposed live parts of electrical equipment as follows:        a)  The extension cord that was run through the door to the outside of the building had broken insulation exposing the conductors.      b)  The electrical service panel, located in the southeast corner of the shop, was missing a circuit breaker exposing the live bus bar in the back of the panel box.
