29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit route(s) were not kept free and unobstructed: a. At the Expansion dock between exit door five through seven, the employer did not ensure exit routes were free from obstruction. Egress routes were obstructed by materials such as but not limited to pallets of material, trash containers, card boxes and Mail Transport equipment, there by exposing employees to a fire hazard. b. On the workroom, floor between pillars E17 and E19 the employer did not ensure main exit routes were free from obstruction. Egress routes were obstructed by materials such as but not limited to Gaylord boxes used to load mail from machine two, there by exposing employees to a fire hazard. The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 31474324, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on December 27, 2011 with respect to a workplace located at U.S. Postal Service located at 2400 Texas Avenue in Shreveport, LA.
