Unless necessary for a use permitted in paragraph (g)(1)(i) of this section, flexible cords and cables shall not be used: 29 CFR 1926.405(g)(1)(iii)(C): Where run through doorways, windows, or similar openings, except as permitted in paragraph (a)(2)(ii)(1) of this section. a. On the sixth floor of building J, room 637, were employees ran an extension cord through a window to provide power to a heater, the cord was not protected from damage, thereby exposing employees to an electrical contact hazard.
