29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1): The employer did not establish a program consisting of an energy control procedure, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performed any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energizing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative: Throughout the company; Employees observed at 5750 Arbor Road, Lincoln, NE: The employer has not developed a written program regarding lockout/tag out operations. As a temporary labor staffing agency, the employer should develop a program that communicates the basic information for lockout/tag out. During this inspection, temporary employees were exposed to serviced equipment which included but was not limited to pallet dismantlers, forklifts, and saws. Abatement certification is required for this violation. The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.
