29 CFR 1910.138(b): The employer did not base selection of appropriate hand protection on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the hand protection relative to the tasks to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the hazards and potential hazards identified: Establishment: Employer did not select and ensure the use of gloves that provided adequate protection (chemical resistance) for employees engaged in operations such as: a) Wiping down the food tray carts using Sentinel sanitizer and re-filling the dispensing system with the cleaners such as Sentinel sanitizer used for cleaning kitchen implements. b) Re-filling the laundry detergent dispensing system which uses detergents such as Ultimate Laundry, Stage 2, and Conserv SG84. c) Using housekeeping cleaners and re-filling the housekeeping cleaners such as Quat Stat SC.
