29 CFR 1918.35: Employees were working around open weather deck hatches which were not protected by coamings to a height of 24 inches (0.61 m), or by taut lines or barricades at a height of 36 to 42 inches (0.91 m to 1.07 m) above the deck. F/T Northern Glacier, Kloosterboer dock, Weather deck area: On or about 5 February 2014 and times prior thereto, the top and mid railing chain was not connected. This condition exposed employees to an approximately 8 foot fall hazard.
