29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) Residence Inn, Greenwood Village, CO: On or about February 19, 2015, and at times prior, five workers without fall protection were exposed to falling 20 feet to ground level while installing roofing material. 29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: a) Residence Inn, Greenwood Village, CO: On or about February 19, 2015, and at times prior, workers demonstrated deficient fall hazard awareness by wearing harnesses with twisted web straps, improperly adjusted D-rings, and connecting two lanyards to the same temporary anchor. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).
