29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and maintain at each workplace, a written hazard communication program which at least describes how the criteria specified in paragraphs (f), (g), and (h) of this section for labels and other forms of warning, safety data sheets, and employee information and training will be met: On or about 02/12/15, at the warehouse area, at UPS-Virgin Islands, Henry E. Rohlsen Airport, St. Croix, VI. The employer did not implement their written hazard communication program to ensure having safety data sheets for hazardous products as follows: a. Employees used and/or handled products such as Ajax Triple Action dishwashing/hand soap (ammonium lauryl sulfate), Clorox Clean-Up (sodium hypochlorite; sodium hydroxide), Clorox bleach (sodium hypochlorite; sodium hydroxide) and Fabuloso (propylene glycol propyl ether) during restroom cleaning operations. b. Employees used and/or handled products such as Armor All (diethylene glycol monobutyl ether), Purple Power cleaner/degreaser (ethylene glycol monobutyl ether), and Spectrum Plus Wash & Wax (surfactants) during trucks cleaning/maintenance operations. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer within 24 hours of the inspection.
