29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. and then only with effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment. a) Main bay and Machine Shop: On or about and at times prior to, air hoses were used in the cleaning of machine parts without the a safety device in place and air pressure was measured between 70-100 psi: 1) Main bay and Machine Shop: HAAS VOP-C SL-30T, SN 3075145 - compressed air hose used for cleaning HAAS components was measured at 70 psi. 2) Main bay and Machine Shop: FADAL CNC MODEL 907-1, SN 012001022056 - compressed air hose used for cleaning FADAL components was measured above 100 psi. 3) Main bay and Machine Shop: ANDRYCHOW, TOOLMEX, MODEL TUG40, SN 8450 - compressed air hose used for cleaning components was measured at 70 psi. 4) Main bay and Machine Shop: SUMMIT machine - compressed air hose used for cleaning components was measured at 100 psi. 5) Main bay and Machine Shop: HAAS MILL TM-1, SN 32554 - compressed air hose used for cleaning components was measured at 70 psi. Abatement certification IS required for this item.
